When Aneta joined JETS, she had lost her job and was singlehandedly raising her 6-year-old child. To make things worse she then became homeless and had to deal with the stress and uneasiness this caused.

Aneta lost job of 3 years during the Covid 19 Pandemic and could only find a part time seasonal role, which came to an end. This is when Job Centre Pluss referred Aneta onto JETS and she hasn’t looked back.

Aneta’s Employment Advisor, Megan was her first point of contact and provided a listening ear and support for Aneta’s difficult circumstances. Anytime she felt anxious or confused, she found Megan was available to talk things through.

It was discovered that Aneta was having to travel to the library to conduct her job searches so, Megan provided her with a laptop. This made it possible for her to search from home and freed up her time to look for more work.

Advice, guidance and information on childcare was then provided by Shivali, A fellow colleague at JETS. Shivali, went above and beyond contacting the local Tesco CEO to see if support could be provided, as Aneta got back on her feet. They agreed and sent across a £50 food voucher.

Aneta attended a variety of online workshops, whilst with JETS, including CV writing and transferable skills with Tutors Jefferson and Neil. As her confidence grew she was put in touch with the Employment Support Advisor Marco, who supported with customising her CV for different industries.

This really helped Aneta to get more interviews, she applied and interviewed for a Technician role and got the job! She achieved this job within 3 months of being on the JETS programme!

It was at this point that unfortunately, Aneta became homeless and as a single parent the temporary accommodation she found was unsuitable, with other tenants having substance mis-use issues. Each time she tried to find accommodation she was being declined by landlords which was upsetting for her. This was proving to be the main challenge and was impacting her and her child.

With additional support from a referral to charity, Aneta was supported further and she found the extra energy to deal with her accommodation situation and job prospects. Thankfully, she was eventually offered a home through the local Council, and she was very happy and positive about the direction her life was taking.

Megan put a case forward for financial support to help Aneta settle in to her new home and she received £100 donation towards moving in costs. Along with this, Seetec Pluss were so impressed with her progress, they offered her £100 voucher for Marks & Spencer. She also received support with 4 weeks travel costs.

Aneta is now working as an Administrator and is enjoying the role. It fits well with her childcare arrangements and gives her a good work / life balance.

Aneta feels her confidence has been restored and said the following to say about her journey on JETS

I came out of the darkness; it feels like everything is going back to normal and I have got myself back. Knowing you have this backup is amazing

“Megan has been very supportive, positive, she always came back to me when she said she would. I think this level of comfort and connection you feel with your Employment Advisor,  is because you know you are not on your own“.
