Our Bristol team were invited by MP Karin Smyth to take our support to the South Bristol Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair. A fantastic event that had a really positive impact on the local community.
National Careers Service were able to support lots of people with a variety of help, from interview techniques to highlighting apprenticeships for people of all ages and experiences. The team consisted of Advisers Michelle and Nicola and Business Manager Nigel King who commented;
“The event was well attended by local training providers and local businesses offering apprenticeships for college students and the general public.
We supported people by promoting the benefits of apprenticeships, making people aware of the Government Apprenticeship Website. We provided details of other apprenticeship opportunities and useful resources and websites.
We also helped people with CV’s, job searching tips, interview skills and gained 15 new customers to follow up with.”
MP Karin Smyth advocated for the impact of the event and the extent of support available and said;
“Thank you all very much for joining us It was fantastic to see this joint event, run between myself and partners, continue to be a success and source of support for many of our residents.
It was a real pleasure to meet stallholders and job-seekers in person and to reaffirm my determination to get local companies and organisations the support they need. Apprenticeships and employment options will always be at the forefront of my work locally and in Parliament.
Seeing people directly benefit from the Fair in taking the next step in their careers is always a joy.”
