Amiee, from Taunton joined the Restart Scheme in late 2023 after her fixed term contract had ended
Twenty-five-year-old Aimee, from Taunton joined the Restart Scheme in October 2023 after her fixed term contract ended.
Determined to find work, Aimee attended job clubs and local CV walks to improve her chances.
By December 2023 Aimee had started working for a motor parts company, however this role did not suit her skillset and ended in January 2024.
Aimee was receiving in-work support and therefore fast-tracked back to the Restart Scheme to continue her journey towards a sustainable career.
She continued to apply for suitable vacancies and before long Amiee landed two more interviews. The first was for an apprenticeship within the rail industry and unfortunately, she was unsuccessful, she then made the decision to take support from the Restart Scheme for interview support with one of our trainers.
Safe, non-judgemental space
Thanks to the pre-interview preparations, Amiee passed the assessments and flew through the interview smoothly to land a permanent, full-time emergency call handler role.
Amiee tells us “The programme is honestly amazing. The support is something I’ve never received before…” she continues “The hub was always calm and welcoming, which is nice to have that safe, non-judgemental space. What you give to the programme is what you get out of it, it’s no lie. I am thankful to everyone for their support and encouragement.”
