Living in Warrington, Amin seeked support with gaining employment and building his confidence to face the process of searching for work.

Having suffered from some psychological issues in the past, and facing challenges such as A.D.H.D and Autism, Amin was referred to the Work and Health Programme, delivered by Seetec in partnership with Ingeus, to help break down the barriers that he faced.

He was put in touch with the health and wellbeing coach, Amy, to help build his confidence and work through some of the obstacles that were preventing him from searching for work.

Scattered thinking

Amin says; “They took my kind of scattered thinking, my scattered head, and they put all of the pieces in place for me to be able to confidently approach the work search process.”

It wasn’t just the job search that Amy helped with, she met with Amin on a regular basis to discuss more personal matters as well, and see how she could help address them.

Through speaking with Amy, Amin was also able to get the support he needed in reaching out to other specialists, enabling him to begin tackling his personal issues.

Gaining confidence

Amin’s employment adviser, Zarah, tells us; “To gain confidence and ease himself into the workplace, Amin began volunteering at an animal sanctuary, followed by taking up a few shifts at a local pub where he could interact with others while playing pool.

“These experience helped him develop social and professional skills in a supportive environment, gradually boosting his self-esteem and readiness for the workforce.”

Amin was able to improve his confidence, which led to him getting a temporary retail position as a Christmas staff member, which due to his hard work turned into a permanent position.
